This page will be an open letter of sorts, explaining more of my purpose in putting together this website and pointing out certain problems and errors I believe are prevalent in Christianity today. Please know that I do this very carefully and out of love and a desire for the truth.
To my dear, precious brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus,
I hope you believe me when I assure you that I have not put this website together in an effort to accuse or offend any one of you who may be a part of any of these churches, ministries, organizations or movements. (Either currently or in the past) I also hope that you understand that I am not trying to devalue or invalidate any encouragement or blessings you believe you have received from these churches, ministries, organizations, movements or their leaders. I truly believe that God "causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them." - Romans 8:28 God alone knows our hearts. I am not seeking to pass judgement on anyone's faith or love for God.
I would never want to limit God in any way, and I do not seek to discourage or hinder anyone in their walk with the Lord. I pray that my words and all I share here would not in any way be a stumbling block to any of you. I encourage you all to keep seeking the Lord in all things, and please, go to the Bible above everything you read, see or hear, (including on this website.) I am not perfect, I make mistakes, and so I will never claim to get everything right. Nor am I looking for perfection in anyone else. As such, I am not looking for a "perfect" church, ministry, organization or leader, rather, I wanted to put this website together and do the necessary research because of the outright lies and deception being put forward as truth in many churches and ministries today. It is my hope that others will be encouraged to carefully, and with sober minded and diligent study of Scripture, look into everything presented here for themselves. Unfortunately, there is extreme and prevalent deception and error being taught and spread throughout Christianity today, the Bible clearly warns us that this will happen, and it is nothing new as the early church dealt with various deceptions as well. This is not about being perfect. No, none of us is perfect, but that is never to be an excuse for not "testing all things." Also, in testing all things we are not to "quench the Spirit", so, this is why I am approaching this very cautiously and carefully.
"Do not quench the Spirit. Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold onto what is good, reject every kind of evil." - 1 Thessalonians 5:19-22
As the verse above makes clear, testing prophecies, (and we have many who claim to be prophets today), is not "quenching" the Spirit. We can and should test everything we see, hear and experience. Also, please understand, I am in no way saying that the Holy Spirit doesn't speak to us and work in our lives, nor am I saying there are no true miracles or prophecies today, my point is that not everything that seems to be of God is. The Bible warns that there will be some who claim to come directly from the Lord and to be doing all things in His name and for His glory, but they will not be serving Him. (Matthew 7:21-23) This is why we need discernment, and this is why we must always turn to the word of God and to the careful study of the Scriptures. (As the Berean Jews did when Paul and Silas came to speak to them.)
"As soon as it was night, the believers sent Paul and Silas away to Berea. On arriving there, they went to the Jewish synagogue. Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true." - Acts 17:10-11
Jesus Himself warns of false messiahs and false prophets who will do many things in His name.
"Jesus told them, 'don't let anyone mislead you, for many will come in my name, claiming, "I am the Messiah." They will deceive many.'" - Matthew 24:4-5
"Then if anyone tells you, 'Look, here is the Messiah', or 'There he is', don't believe it. For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform great signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God's chosen ones. See, I have warned you about this ahead of time." - Matthew 24:23-25
Also, in 1 John 4:1 it is written:
"Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world."
I simply ask and hope that you will carefully read and study God's inspired word. Measure everything else you read, see, hear or experience by a Biblical standard. Reject everything that is not of God. We truly do need discernment and guidance in these confusing times, and God has not left us alone, nor will He ever forsake us. (Matthew 28:18-20) (Hebrews 13:5)
You are all in my prayers, I love and care about you deeply. May God bless all of you in all you do.
